Kevin Cole is a professor of law at University of San Diego School of Law. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, he clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and practiced law in Philadelphia, joining the USD law faculty in 1987 and serving as the school's dean from 2005-11. Professor Cole teaches and writes primarily in the areas of evidence and criminal law and procedure. He served as reporter for the Committee on Forfeiture in Drug Offense Cases of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and has been a visiting professor at Georgetown University. Professor Cole's scholarly work has addressed topics such as sentencing, sexual assault law, mens rea, criminal law theory, and search and seizure law. Since 2009 he has edited the CrimProf Blog.
