Following her retirement from the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, Margaret B. Seymour has joined the law firm of Saxton & Stump in their Charleston, SC office. Seymour served as the first African American woman on the court and the first African American to serve as chief judge.
“Saxton & Stump has quickly made a name for itself in the Charleston area and in all of South Carolina,” Seymour said in the announcement. “I’m eager to start the next stage of my career during this exciting time for the firm in South Carolina and throughout its entire footprint.”
Seymour will work as a mediator and arbitrator and provide support to Saxton & Stump’s Commercial Litigation, Title IX, and Labor and Employment groups.
