Carol and Jordan Steiker featured in Harvard Magazine

November 15, 2016

ALI member Carol S. Steiker of Harvard Law School and Jordan M. Steiker of the University of Texas were recently featured in Harvard Magazine. The article, “Death Throes: Changing how America thinks about capital punishment,” takes a look at the Steikers’ involvement in altering the U.S. capital punishment landscape with their 2009 study, which contributed to ALI’s decision to withdraw capital punishment provisions in the Model Penal Code.

The article also reviews their most recent book, Courting Death: The Supreme Court and Capital Punishment.

Watch the below video of Professor Carol Steiker’s lecture at the Radcliffe Institute on the history of the death penalty in the United States.
