Tiffany Williams Brewer is an Assistant Professor of Law at Howard University School of Law, teaching required courses in Evidence, Professional Responsibility, Legislation & Regulation and an innovative seminar entitled Black Women & the Law.  She is a former New Jersey Administrative Law Judge and is currently the Chair of the NJ State Commission of Investigation, an independent investigatory agency empowered to expose organized crime, government fraud and corruption. She is the incoming Chair-Elect of the ABA Litigation Section, which she will lead as Chair in 2025. 

Throughout her career, she has served in high profile leadership roles in government including as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Deputy Chief Counsel to the NJ Governor, Chief Counsel to the Speaker of the NJ General Assembly, NJ Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, and Regulatory Officer at the NJ Civil Service Commission.  In private practice, she has served as a litigation associate at several large law firms in MA and NJ and started her career as a law clerk to the Honorable Frederick L. Brown in the Massachusetts Appeals Court.  During law school, Judge Williams Brewer had the unique opportunity to serve as an intern at the White House for the Office of Legal Counsel. Prior to law school, she also served as the Special Assistant to U.S. Senator Bill Bradley.

A frequent lecturer abroad, she served as a visiting professor in India and Saudi Arabia, and trained lawyers and judges in the African Union and Middle East. Judge Williams Brewer's scholarly focus spans several areas of her professional expertise including, examining the intersectionality of racial and gender in criminal justice reform for women and girls, professionalism, civility and ethics, religion and the law, and global women’s leadership. She is also a pastor and the nonprofit founder of the Esther Project and the Esther Institute for the Advancement of Women & Girls.
