Joseph Frumkin is the managing partner of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group. He has provided legal counsel on many of the largest M&A transactions in history, representing buyers, sellers and special committees. His practice focuses on U.S. and cross-border acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and corporate preparedness, as well as governance and general corporate representation.
Mr. Frumkin is consistently recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers and other leading lawyer ranking organizations. In 2017, he was named “Dealmaker of the Year” by The American Lawyer for his work on the AT&T-Time Warner transaction and was previously recognized for his work on the Cingular-AT&T Wireless transaction.
Mr. Frumkin also is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he teaches a course in M&A. He is Co-Chair of the University of Pennsylvania Institute for Law and Economics, a leading forum for discussion among academics, jurists and practitioners of director duties, corporate governance and other corporate and business law topics.
