Marcel Kahan is the George T. Lowy Professor of Law at the New York University School of Law. His main areas of teaching and research are shareholder voting, hedge funds, corporate governance, and bondholder rights. He has written over 60 articles for law reviews, finance journals, and professional publications. His articles have been awarded the Merton Miller Prize for the best paper submitted to the Journal of Business and the De Brauw Prize for the best paper in the ECGI Law Working Paper series and 20 articles have been selected as among the best corporate and securities articles by the Corporate Practice Commentator. Professor Kahan has been Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, and the Hebrew University. He is a Fellow at the European Corporate Governance Institute and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
