Robert Edmunds, Jr. is Associate Justice for the Supreme Court of North Carolina. He began his legal career in 1978 as an Assistant District Attorney in the 18th Prosecutorial District. In 1982, he became an Assistant District Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina. He was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina in 1986. In 1993, Justice Edmunds joined Stern & Klepfer LLP as a partner. He later became Judge for the North Carolina Court of Appeals from 1999 to 2000. In 2001, he was appointed to the Supreme Court.
