Timothy P. Law

Timothy P. Law is a partner at Reed Smith, where he represents policyholders in disputes with their insurance companies, specializing in property and liability insurance coverage, and bad faith litigation. His clients include the largest generic pharmaceutical company in the world and one of the largest home builders in the United States. He also represents non-profits, universities, and a number of small and medium-sized businesses.

Substantively, Mr. Law has broad experience in various areas of insurance law. He wrote the chapter on Personal Injury and Advertising Liability Coverage in a leading insurance treatise and has obtained insurance recovery for TCPA, FCRA, and other statutory liabilities under both general liability and professional liability insurance policies. Mr. Law has represented corporations in insurance company insolvency proceedings, helping his clients to enforce their rights against both the insolvent insurance company and insurance guaranty associations. In addition, he regularly represents clients in workers’ compensation insurance coverage and premium disputes. Mr. Law also has extensive experience with mortgage insurance, and directors and officers insurance litigation.
