Michelle Behnke a member of the Boardman Clark law firm. Prior to joining Boardman Clark, she was the principal in her own firm of Michelle Behnke & Associates where her practice is focused in the areas of business, real estate and estate planning.
Michelle is active in her community having served on a number of boards including and the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, Madison Community Development Corporation, SSM Healthcare of Wisconsin and Dean Health Plan, Inc.
Michelle also serves on the Board of visitors for the University of Wisconsin Law School and as a member of the Board of the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA). She previously served as President of the International Women's Forum-Wisconsin Forum.
Michelle is active within the American Bar Association. In August, 2024, she will become the President-elect of the ABA. She has previously served as Chair of the Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession; ABA Treasurer (2017-2020); member of the Standing Committee on Membership ; and Chair of the Standing Committee on Bar Activities and Services. She is also a former president of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Michelle received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Economics and her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Michelle has more than 35 years of experience in the real estate area and was elected to membership in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and has been listed in both the Best Lawyers in America and Wisconsin Super Lawyers since 2006.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Association of African American Lawyers, and the Dane County Bar Association.
