Michael Doran teaches tax, property, Native American law, trusts & estates, employee benefits law, legal ethics, and Roman law at the University of Virginia School of Law. He previously taught at Georgetown University Law Center. His scholarship focuses on tax policy, retirement policy, executive compensation, legislative process, and federal Indian law. Before entering academia, he was a partner at Caplin & Drysdale in Washington, D.C., and he served twice in the Office of Tax Policy at the U.S. Treasury Department.
