Christopher Schroeder is the Emeritus Charles S. Murphy Professor of Law and Public Policy Studies at Duke University.  He served as the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice, 2021-2023, the Asistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Policy, 2011-2013, and the Chief Counsel of the Commmittee on the Judiciary of the U.S. Senate 1996-1997.

Chris is married to Kate Bartlett, former Dean of Duke Law School.
