Davis

Mary J Davis is the Ashland-Inc., Spears Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law. She is Dean Emerita, having served as Dean from 2019 to 2024.
She has been on the UK Rosenberg Law faculty since 1991 teaching Torts, Products Liability, Conflict of Laws, and Complex Litigation. She has written law casebooks in Products Liability and Torts and publishes primarily in the field of products liability concentrating on federal preemption. She has served as Advisor to the Restatement Third of Torts project on Intentional Torts and Members Consultative Group member to the Products Liability Restatement and the Torts Restatement, General Principles.
Prof. Davis has been a visiting law professor at Boston College, University Texas at Austin, Wake Forest University, and William and Mary. Before joining the faculty at UK Rosenberg Law, she practiced in the areas of products liability and complex litigation. She is a University Research Professor and a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the National Civil Justice Institute.
