Jonathan L. Williams is senior counsel at States United Democracy Center. Before joining States United, Jonathan counseled state government officials and multi-state coalitions on cutting-edge legal issues in private practice and as deputy solicitor general for the state of Florida, where his U.S. Supreme Court advocacy won recognition from the National Association of Attorneys General. Jonathan began his career as a law clerk to Judges E. Grady Jolly of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Lee H. Rosenthal of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He also practiced with Williams & Connolly LLP.
