Michelle Kallen, the former Solicitor General of Virginia, is co-chair of Steptoe’s appellate practice.  She helps clients navigate complex matters before federal and state appellate courts. Michelle regularly files briefs and litigates matters in the US Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Eastern District of Virginia, and other state and federal courts. 
 

Michelle’s past public service includes serving as Special Litigation Counsel in the US House of Representatives, representing the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol in litigation.
