Richard Herzog is a retired  partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Atlanta where he formerly lead the debt finance and restructuring practice. 

He represented banks, special servicers, bondholders, indenture trustees and other institutional lenders in dealing with customers’ classified or defaulted credit facilities. He was involved in debt restructurings, litigation and bankruptcies in a wide variety of industries including real estate, hospitality, retail, healthcare, education, distribution, extraction and transportation.

Mr. Herzog is the author of Bankruptcy: A Concise Guide for Creditors and Debtors, a Fortune Business Book Club selection. He has also been a speaker at CLE seminars on bankruptcy, foreclosure, and the Uniform Commercial Code.

He is a past President of the Atlanta Bar Association and past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.

He clerked for Judge W.H. Drake of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
