Richard Briffault Addresses Alabama Lawmakers
Richard Briffault of Columbia Law School addressed the Alabama House Ethics and Campaign Finance Committee ahead of the lawmaker’s planned overhaul of a 2010 ethics law.
Briffault discussed rules and regulations regarding gift giving and nominal amounts for public officials. He is considered an expert on state and local government, often providing insight on campaign finance reform, government ethics, election administration, and more. He served as Reporter on Principles of the Law, Government Ethics, which was approved at the 2023 Annual Meeting.
