Nathan Hecht to Receive James B. Sales Pro Bono Leadership Award
The Houston Bar Foundation (HBF) will honor Nathan L. Hecht of the Texas Supreme Court with the 2024 James B. Sales Pro Bono Leadership Award, the organization’s highest honor.
The James B. Sales Pro Bono Leadership Award was established in 2009 to recognize excellence in community service, a hallmark of the HBF’s leadership.
Hecht was elected to ALI in 1988 and to ALI Council in 2017. He is chief justice of the Texas Supreme Court and active in the court’s efforts to assure that Texans living below the poverty level, as well as others with limited means have access to basic civil legal services. During his tenure on the court, he has overseen revisions to the rules of administration, practice, and procedure in Texas courts and also served on the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules of the Judicial Conference of the United States.
Hecht will receive the award during the HBF’s Annual Meeting and Luncheon on March 7. Learn more and register to attend here.
