It is with sadness that we report the passing of Jean Braucher, an elected member of The American Law Institute and the Roger Henderson Professor of Law at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law, in Tucson, Arizona. Jean was an active member of the ALI, serving as an Adviser for Article 2A of the Uniform Commercial Code and for Principles of the Law, Software Contracts. She also participated in the Members Consultative Groups for more than a dozen U.C.C., Principles, and Restatement projects. Focusing her scholarship on consumer aspects of commercial law and bankruptcy, she published several book chapters and law review articles on these topics and was active in many legal organizations, including the ABA, the Association of American Law Schools, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
Jean was the daughter of Robert Braucher, ALI Reporter on The Restatement Second, Contracts, and longtime professor at Harvard Law School and Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Jean is survived by her husband and two children.
