University of California, Berkeley School of Law professor Edward C. Halbach, Jr. passed away. He was 85.
Mr. Halbach became a professor at UC Berkeley law school in 1962 and served as Dean from 1966-1975. He received the University Citation for extraordinary service to Berkeley, and in 2010 he was recognized with Berkeley Law’s Faculty Lifetime Achievement Award.
A longtime ALI member and Reporter on Restatement of the Law Third, Trusts, Mr. Halbach was named to ALI’s A. James Casner Reporter’s Chair. He was awarded the Treat Award for Excellence from the National College of Probate Judges and the Harrison Tweed Award from the ABA.
