Kaighn Smith Jr. of Drummond Woodsum and Associate Reporter for the American Indian Law project will present “Ethical ‘Obligations’ and Affirmative Tribal Sovereignty” at the 21st Annual Tribal Law & Government Conference, hosted by the University of Kansas School of Law.
Mr. Smith’s session will cover ethical issues that may face lawyers who practice in the field of federal Indian law. Topics to be addressed include: licensing and professional conduct; traditions and culture; sovereign immunity; corruption; and improving Federal Indian Law.
