Bob Wessels Appointed as Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau

During the first lustrum congress of the Conference on European Reconstructing and Insolvency Law, Bob Wessels of University of Leiden was appointed as officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

The Order, founded in 1892 by the queen regent Emma of the Netherlands, is conferred on people who have “made a contribution of outstanding value to the community.” The officer class is typically appointed to individuals that have made outstanding service of national or international importance.

Wessels was bestowed the Order at an international conference at the University of Leiden, and was honored for his contributions to the Dutch, European, and international community.

Wessels served as Co-Reporter for Transnational Insolvency: Global Principles for Cooperation in International Insolvency Cases, an ALI Report published in 2012. The work was a joint effort with the International Insolvency Institute (III) and extends the work from ALI’s Principles of Cooperation Among the NAFTA Countries, published in 2003.
