Mitchell A. Imanaka is the Managing Principal of Imanaka Asato. He practices in the real property and finance area with an emphasis on the development of condominium, subdivision, timesharing, and commercial projects, and represents major developers and lenders doing business in Hawaii. Mr. Imanaka has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law, in the area of real estate development and finance, and as a consultant to the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs on subdivision and timeshare matters.

Appointed by Governor Abercrombie to the Tax Review Commission, Mr. Imanaka has also served as the Vice Chair of the Real Estate Commission of the State of Hawaii, and as the Chair of the Condominium Review Committee of the Commission.

He is an author of several articles on real property law in Hawaii, is an editor of the Hawaii Real Estate Law Manual (the definitive work on real estate law and finance in Hawaii), and has spoken before numerous groups in Hawaii on real property development issues and concerns. He has also been an active participant in the hospitality industry, representing major hospitality companies doing business in Hawaii.
