Seamus C. Duffy is a partner in the Drinker Biddle’s Litigation Group. He concentrates his practice on multi-state consumer class action and related government enforcement litigation. He has a depth of experience representing companies with interstate business and operations in managing overlapping federal and state private and government enforcement proceedings.

A nationally recognized speaker on issues relevant to the defense of class actions, Seamus regularly serves as national counsel defending consumer class actions for Fortune 100 companies, both in federal multidistrict litigation proceedings and their state court equivalents. He assists companies in resisting the improper assertion of state authority over federally regulated aspects of industry, and has managed industry efforts to overturn preempted state legislation and regulations, and regulations violating First Amendment rights. Seamus also represents telecommunications carriers in a variety of complex business disputes.

Seamus regularly lectures on trial advocacy programs sponsored by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He has been recognized as a “Litigation Star” by Benchmark Litigation. He joined Drinker Biddle in 1988 following a clerkship in the United States District Court in Philadelphia.
