Derek P. Langhauser is of counsel for Maine Community College System, Maine Maritime Academy. He served as President (2015-19) and General Counsel (1994-2015) of the Maine Community College System, and Special Counsel to U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe (1998-2012).
Previously, he served as Chief Legal Counsel Maine Governor Janet T. Mills as well as Maine Governor John R. McKernan, Jr. and law clerk to Maine Supreme Judicial Court Senior Associate Justice David A. Nichols and Associate Justice, now U.S. District Judge, D. Brock Hornby.
Mr. Langhauser was elected to the ALI in October 2003 and was elected to the Council in May 2009.
