Cynthia Nance Receives ABA Achievement Award

Cynthia E. Nance of the University of Arkansas School of Law has been awarded the 2018 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award. The award was established in 1991 by the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession and recognizes the accomplishments of women lawyers who have excelled in their field and paved the way for other women lawyers.

Professor Nance’s letters of support have called her a trailblazer for her distinctions as the first woman and first African American to be the dean of University of Arkansas School of Law, as well as the first woman law school dean in the state of Arkansas. She actively encourages, guides and advocates for her legal practitioner and academic peers.
