Randolph Stuart Sergent

Randolph S. Sergent is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, located in Baltimore, Maryland.  Prior to joining CareFirst, Mr. Sergent was a partner at Venable, LLP.  Mr. Sergent also served the Maryland Attorney General’s Office as Deputy Counsel to the Maryland Insurance Commissioner and as Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Litigation Division. 

Mr. Sergent is a Commissioner on the Maryland Health Care Commission and is active with the Maryland State Bar Association.  He is Chair of the MSBA Ethics Committee and past Chair of the Health Law Section.  He is a member of the Board and Vice-President of the Howard County Conservancy, a nature and environmental education center in Howard County, Maryland.  Mr. Sergent also is a member of the Wranglers Law Club, a venerable Baltimore institution.
