ALI Proceedings Now Available on Westlaw

On April 29, the edited transcripts of the Annual Meetings for the years 2000 to 2003, as published in the ALI Proceedings for those years, became available on Westlaw. The database is accessible at the Westlaw sign-on, ALI-PROCEED. The Proceedings for subsequent years will also be added in due course to this database.

There are several special Westlaw features relating to the Proceedings database. First, links are provided to all available draft and project sections discussed within the text of the transcripts. For example, if the discussion pertains to § 28 of Restatement Third, Torts: Liability for Physical Harm (Basic Principles), then any reference made by a speaker to that section will be linked. The Westlaw user can then follow the link to retrieve immediately the text of the referenced draft section for further analysis. Second, the database is searchable by date, speaker name, project name, and pertinent words or phrases. Finally, the Table of Contents on westlaw.com provides a quick overview of all the various projects and topics discussed at any given Meeting and allows users to retrieve desired Proceedings documents quickly and easily.
