Incumbent Officers Reelected

At its meeting in Washington on May 14 the Council reelected the following officers to new one-year terms: Chair of the Council, Roswell B. Perkins; President, Charles Alan Wright; First Vice President and President Designate, Michael Traynor; Second Vice President, Conrad K. Harper; Treasurer, Bennett Boskey; Director, Lance Liebman; and Deputy Directors, Elena A. Cappella and Michael Greenwald. Following the death of President Wright on July 7, Mr. Traynor in a special mail ballot was elected President, effective immediately. The current Vice Presidential vacancy will be addressed at the Council’s October meeting in Philadelphia.

During the meeting on May 14 the Council also elected the following to serve for the next year on the Executive Committee: Philip S. Anderson, Allen D. Black, Vester T. Hughes, Jr., Herma Hill Kay, Robert MacCrate, Roberta C. Ramo, Sherwin P. Simmons, Robert A. Stein, Elizabeth Warren, and William H. Webster. Reelected to new three-year terms as ALI representatives on the ALI-ABA Committee on Continuing Professional Education were Susan R. Martyn and Sherwin P. Simmons. Elected to the ALI-ABA Committee for the first time, for a three-year term, was Joseph J. Ortego. Reelected to new one-year terms as ALI representatives on the Permanent Editorial Board for the Uniform Commercial Code were Amelia H. Boss, Donald J. Rapson, Curtis R. Reitz, and Steven O. Weise. Newly elected to the PEB was Linda J. Rusch.
